EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH INFINITY VX ESPORTS TEAM AT THE FREE FIRE WORLD SERIES (FFWS 2022) IN BANGKOK
How did your journey in the world of E-Sports begin?
We have been in a relationship with electronic games since childhood, as it was the most thing we do in order to fill our free time, so the seeds of our love and delving into the world of electronic games grew during the period when we used to Enjoy video games, whether it was on the PlayStation, computer or phone, but recently we became attached to Free Fire game to a large extent.
What are the criteria that gamers of electronic games must meet in order to become a professional gamer
There are two aspects of the requirements that players must meet:
The psychological aspect: Players must be patient when they lose by getting up again and setting new goals and plans in order to win, because without setting goals, the individual will not reach anything.
The material side: here we are talking about capabilities in general, whether (mobile phones – the Internet – headphones …. etc.).
How do you see the E-Sports industry in the Middle East and its future in general? What does the electronic games industry need in order to gain the required spread?
We see that the e-sports scene in the Middle East is still lagging behind and very limited compared to neighboring regions, whether it is at the level of investments in the industry or players, but in the future, we believe that there will be a significant improvement.
As for the requirements that the gaming industry needs in general to gain popularity, there is more support, whether it is at the level of governments or brands that are related to electronic games, to contribute to creating a unique scene for the electronic games industry, just as any electronic game that exists on the scene now must commit to developing international or local tournaments, prizes and creating New updates on its maps so it is very popular as Free Fire game.
As for the difference between the two versions, the competition in Bangkok version was fierce and intense due to the presence of many teams with great experience in international participations, but in general it did not difference much.
As for the level of the organizational structure of the team, the two participations, whether the first or the second, had the same name as the team, but each version of it was a different number of players.
How do you evaluate the level of the team since your first tournament in the Free Fire tournaments until you reached the World Championship? Do you think you have reached the level you aspire to? Or is there still ample opportunity for improvement?
Of course, the level of the team is under development, and this means that we are improving in each period from the previous period, and this is what is required for us in that period.
As for the level at which we competed in the World Championship, it is not the level that we aspired to present, due to two problems, the first is the lack of training equipment, and the second is the inability of some players to travel due to the visa problem, which led to the team going to the World Championship incomplete.
The number, in addition to the lack of reserve players.
We hope to overcome those challenges facing us until we reach the level that we aspire to, to be at a greater level, such as the global teams, and the psychological factor represents a natural risk that must be dealt with professionally, and there is still a lot of time for improvement.
What is your message that you would like to direct to companies and to the Arab players community?
Our message is that they should look at electronic games with a view of greater interest than that in all respects, whether by investing in infrastructure or in players, because of its great popularity among Arab youth of all ages and different classes, and here we thank Garena Free Fire for providing regular tournaments and a competitive environment for us.
What are your ambitions and aspirations during the coming period?
Our ambitions for the future are to improve the level of the team, take lessons from the experience of recent global participation, and work towards reaching the next global participation.
