Alex Smetana participates for the first time in the El Gouna Festival with the movie “The Furnace”

American artist Alex Smetana expressed his happiness that he is near to his presence in Egypt to participate for the first time in the activities of the fourth edition of the El Gouna Film Festival, with the film “The Furnace” by Australian director Roderick MacKay and starring Ahmed Malek.
“Alex” said in a statement that participating in the film in festivals is a tribute and an opportunity for each team to bring it to different cultures, especially as it is deep in the local, so its events take place in Australia and several nationalities participate in it.
Smitana continued: “The film lasted an encounter with Ahmed Malik and was very impressed with his talent for reincarnation, and I hope the film will receive an award at the end of the festival.”
The film is competing in the feature film competition, within 16 films.
The story of “The Furnace” is set in Australia, in the nineties of the last century. The film deals with the story of a hero searching for his identity, which stands before it the obstacles of greed and greed due to the rush for gold that afflicted Australia.

The film was shown at the Venice Film Festival last September, and this is its Middle East premiere.
The El Gouna Film Festival will be held in El Gouna from 23-31 October 2020, while the activities of the El Gouna Film Platform, the festival’s arm for industry, will be held from 25-29 October 2020.
It is noteworthy that Alex Smetana participated in the third part of the series “Beauty and the beast” starring Jay Ryan, Austin Basis, Marcy Harrell, Nicole Gale Anderson, Nina Lisandrello, Kristen Kreuk and directed by Jeff Renfrey.
