Gigi Hadid reveals her baby’s due date
It feels like only yesterday when 25-year-old model Gigi Hadid confirmed the rumours that she was expecting a baby with One Direction alum Zayn Malik. And yet, it was actually in late April when Hadid responded in the affirmative to the pregnancy rumours during an interview with Jimmy Fallon.
But, with Hadid in a quarantine bubble like most of the world, glimpses of her growing bump have been limited to those shared only by Hadid herself on social media—during the pandemic there have been no paparazzi snaps of the 25-year-old running errands and no red carpet appearances for her many fans to keep track of the steadily growing bump, simply because these types of outings just aren’t taking place.
And, without these regular bump growing pictures to keep track of how far along Hadid actually is, it has felt as though Hadid’s due date was some time in the very distant future. However, it turns out Hadid is mere weeks away from giving birth to her and Malik’s bundle of joy.
Last week, the model shared a number of stunning photographs on Instagram of a pregnancy shoot. The mum-to-be noted that the shoot had taken place a month earlier and even then she looked quite far along in her pregnancy.
Overnight, the model has shared new pregnancy portraits from the photo shoot—including one in which she looks casually chic in unbuttoned jeans and a crop top and is cradling her bump with one hand—and although the portraits themselves are cause for excitement, it’s the caption that has Hadid fans in overdrive.
Hadid captioned the series of images “33 weeks” and given that we know the pregnancy photo shoot took place on July 26 (she shared the date of the shoot in the caption of an image posted last week), when you do the maths, with a typical pregnancy usually around the 40 week mark, the model mum-to-be must be about 38 weeks along and thus due in the next couple of weeks (cue squeals from her many fans around the world!).
The model also shared behind-the-scenes video of the pregnancy shoot which she captioned “making-of”. According to Seventeen, the model revealed that she “loved” shooting pregnant when a fan asked her on Twitter how she found the experience. “I loved it,” Hadid responded to the fan on Twitter per Seventeen, adding “I knew what I wanted from the pics and Gab [Gabriella Karefa-Johnson] and L&I [Luigi and Iango] really made it happen for me. But [it] was definitely more tiring than working normally. Got through the second look [I] was like ‘guys I think I can only do two more’ hahaaaa”.
