The images were taken in November 2021 at Kew Gardens by photographer Paola Roversi, and will eventually be part of the National Portrait Gallery’s permanent collection.
The Duchess can be seen wearing multiple Alexander McQueen dresses, as well as earrings that belonged to Diana, Princess of Wales, and others loaned by the Queen.
Fashion critics have praised her glamorous image in the photographs, and not for the first time. By comparing Google Trends data, we can see the influence she has on the fashion industry:
There was an 809% week on week increase in “gold sequined dress” searches after she wore a gold Jenny Packham dress in September 2021.
A 750% week on week increase in “polka dot dresses” after she was seen wearing polka dots after the birth of Prince George in 2013.
A 492% week on week increase in “Black military coats” after her outfit on Remembrance Sunday in 2019.
With her birthday being celebrated this week, the team at Betway used data available on Pinterest to reveal Kate Middleton’s greatest fashion moments throughout the last decade by comparing the number of saved pins.
