The punishment given to Cranberry Sherbet by RTÜK has been overturned! The series returns to the screens again.
RTÜK decided to suspend the TV series Cranberry Sherbet, which was broadcast on Show TV, for 1.5 million TL and for 5 weeks, due to the scenes of violence against women. With the series, the lawyers of the channel objected to the decision of RTÜK.
Ankara Regional Administrative Court overturned the decision of RTÜK and stopped the execution. The series will air with its new episode on Friday.
Cranberry Sherbet, starring Evrim Alasya, Barış Kılıç, Sıa Türkoğlu, Doğukan Güngör, Müjde Uzman, Ceren Karakoç and Settar Tanrıöğen, was punished by RTÜK for some scenes of violence against women. Evaluating the complaints, RTÜK gave the series a 5-week suspension and an administrative fine of 1.5 million TL.
