Saudi Arabia’s Landmark Pavilion Continues Award-Winning Streak with Prestigious World Expo Award
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Pavilion has won U.S.-based EXHIBITOR Magazine’s BEST XL PAVILION award
The 13,059 sq.m. pavilion also received two Honorable Mentions for BEST EXTERIOR DESIGN andBEST EXHIBIT/DISPLAY
The latest win adds to a roster of Guinness World Records attained by the KSA Pavilion, one of the most sustainable and visited structures at Expo 2020 Dubai
DUBAI, U.A.E: 19 March 2022 – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Pavilion – a record-breaking structure that is also one of the most visited sites at Expo 2020 Dubai – has won a prestigious World Expo Award from U.S.-based EXHIBITOR Magazine, adding a new trophy to its rich roster of international awards.
The Kingdom’s massive pavilion, the second largest structure at Expo after the host nation’s, has won the award for BEST XL PAVILION (more than 5,000 square meters), one of four BEST PAVILION prizes awarded to Expo 2020 Dubai pavilions in four different categories.
EXHIBITOR Magazine announced the winners in the competition’s total of 14 categories during an EXHIBITORInsight webinar on Wednesday March 16.
The competition received entries from dozens of pavilions.
The Kingdom’s 13,059 square-meter pavilion has also received an Honorable Mentionin BEST EXTERIOR DESIGN. Another Honorable Mention was received by the Saudi Arabia Pavilion (Audiovisual Kaleidoscope) for BEST EXHIBIT/DISPLAY.

Large visitor numbers reflect an immense interest to get to know the real and authentic Saudi Arabia through the Pavilion journey. By March 10, the Saudi Pavilion has welcomed its 4 millionth visit since the opening of Expo 2020 Dubai in October 2021. The major milestone strengthened its position as one of Expo’s most popular experiences, drawing approximately a quarter of all Expo visits.

- The innovative façade of the building soars five stories high from the ground. The structure is prism shaped and its base represents modern Saudi society with its deep-rooted history; and as it soars skywards, it symbolizes the limitless ambitions of the country. The Pavilion includes several floors and exhibition zones as well as retail spaces, and landscaped areas.The structure opens like a large window into the future, with immersive experiences showing the nation’s welcoming character, rich history and heritage, ancient culture. It also showcases the towering ambition of the Saudi people and unlimited drive of the nation as well as the myriad opportunities under Vision 2030, the national transformation strategic framework.
- Located in the Opportunity District, the Saudi Pavilion was built in accordance with strict and ambitious sustainability and energy efficiency objectives, making it one of the most sustainable pavilions at Expo 2020 Dubai. It has been awarded LEED version 4 Platinum rating from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the highest internationally recognized sustainability rating in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. The outer facade is covered with 650 solar panels manufactured in the Kingdom.
- The KSA Pavilion also holds three Guinness World Records: the largest interactive lighting floor with around 8,000 LED lights, the longest interactive water feature at more than 32 meters, and the largest LED interactive digital mirror screen at 1,302 square meters.
