Recently, His Holiness Pope Francis began a Pilgrimage of Penitencein Canada, where he apologized for atrocities committed against indigenous peoples.
Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission is credited with the progress that has been made here.
The following admonishment calls for the continuation of His Holiness’sPilgrimage of Penitencefor the underlying documentation that gave rise to the erroneous idea of white supremacy and its fateful global consequences.
In 1493, Pope Alexander VI issued a papal bull called the Inter Caetera using the Doctrine of Discovery to justify the alleged European Discovery of new lands and waterways with the absolute right to do as they pleased against the ancestral People and their lands. Between 1492 and 1600 – 90% of the
Indigenous populations in the Americas were either murdered or died from pathogens brought onto their traditional soil by representatives of the Roman Catholic Church.
And in 1513 AD – King Ferdinand the Catholic established a New World Order with The Spanish Requirement, saying – “inhabitants who were not Christians – will acknowledge the Roman Catholic
Church ruler and master of the whole world.
I certify to you that with the help of God, we shall powerfully enter your country and make war against you in all ways and manners that can and shall subject you to the yoke and obedience of the Church and their highnesses; we shall take you, and your wife, and your children,
and shall make slaves of them, and as such shall sell and dispose of them as their highnesses may command.
We shall take away your goods and do you all the mischief and damage we can, as to vassals who do not obey, refuse to receive their lord, and resist and contradict him.
We further state that the deaths and losses
which shall accrue from this are your faults, and not that of their highnesses, or ours, nor of these cavalier who come with us – This is the Will of God.”
These documents and others together, known today as the Doctrine of Discovery, fueled white supremacy, as white European settlers claimed they were instruments of God, serving the will of God so
proclaimed by the Vatican.
This domination spread throughout like a plague — murdering millions. Men, women, and children were raped and forced into slavery.
In 1823, the Doctrine of Discovery inspired the writing of the Monroe Doctrine. This inspiration declared U.S. hegemony over the Western Hemisphere and Manifest Destiny.
President James Monroe
proclaimed the U.S. protector of the Western Hemisphere by forbidding European powers from colonizing additional territories in the Americas.
In return, Monroe committed not to interfere in the affairs, conflicts,
and extant colonial enterprises of European States.
The justification of American expansion westward spread a net of control over ancestral lands from the Atlantic to the Pacific with a subconscious impunity.
Native American Indians and all Indigenous people
caught in their web of hegemony were labeled as subhuman and separated from their languages, knowledges and lands.
In 1826, the United States recognized the sovereignty of The Kingdom of Hawai’i in a Treaty of Friendship, Commerce & Navigation. Diplomatic relations commenced in 1853.
By 1882, France, Spain,Portugal and England all held bilateral treaties with The Kingdom of Hawai’i.

On January 16, 1893, United States Marines set foot on the sovereign territory of The Kingdom of Hawai’i, which under
international law was at the time and is still today an act of war.
At gunpoint, Her Royal Majesty QueenLiliu’okalani ceded her natural birthright to spare bloodshed of her people; she immediately filed legal appeals in protest.
After a thorough investigation, US Commissioner James Blount first reported the illegality ofannexation 6 months later, calling it “a lawless occupation of Honolulu under false 39 pretexts by the United
States forces.”
That same day, President Cleveland labeled the overthrow “an act of war, committed with a diplomatic representative of the United States and without the authority of Congress”, H.R.Doc. No. 47, 53rd
Congress, 2d Session, XIII–XV.
At the centennial, US Public Law 103-150; the Apology Resolution, passed by the U.S. Congress on November 23, 1993, apologizes to Native Hawaiians for the illegal Overthrow oftheir Lawful government, the Kingdom of Hawai’i, by adding a disclaimer… “Nothing in this Joint resolution is intended to serve as a settlement for any claims against the United States of America.”
Who am I? Your predecessors would label me a sub-human, a mistake that your God created.
I am an original Indigenous man of the Hawaiian Archipelago and Hereditary King, ordained and sustained by the hand of God.
My sacred genealogy extends back to Kings and Queens blessed by Akua from time immemorial; it is Akua who speaks through me.
My sacred Ni’au pi’o bloodline and name is:
Nalikolauokalani Paki Ka’i ‘Ōmaka-olahou Kaluaokalani-KaĪ-mano-ānuunuu-ka-lamakea-i-hookū-ke-aupuni-o-Hawaii. It is from this sacred, high place that I talk with you.
Remedy These truths have been recorded into US and international law; they are not in contest. If the Vatican apologizes for the Doctrine of Discovery, healing and reconciliation can occur, so that Native Americans,
Africans, the African Diaspora, Native Hawaiians, and The Catholic Church can lead ALL humanity forward in peace.
To get a sense of the latent anger across minority America, one need only read about the latest riots in which store owners and elderly ladies are killed (ironically these innocent bystanders are often immigrants
themselves), or witness the fellings of Confederate statues.
However, reparations are not the answer for many reasons that go far beyond the mandate of this document.
Germany has spent over 60 years apologizing to the Jews for Hitler and the Nazi Regime’s genocide against them.
The United States apologized for puttingthe Japanese internment camps.
Certainly the Pope can apologize for labeling people subhuman.
The descendents of slaves inherited the trauma of enslavement from their ancestors; the descendents of slave owners suffer too from their unwanted inheritance of “My great grandfather owned slaves.”
Apologizing for and retraction of the Doctrine of Discovery can give this generation freedom from this agony.
Closing Argument John 13-34, “A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you,
that ye also love one another.”
This commandment given to us by Christ reinforces the attitude that we must love one another.
A good human does not rape, molest, beat, or covet someone else’s property, wife or family.
This is not a Vicar of Christ.

Province, Sovereign of the State of Vatican City, Servant of the Servants to apologize for the historic destructiveness of Your High Office, and end the inherited sadness of All Native American Indians on Turtle
Island, Africa, the Western Hemisphere, Latin America, the Kingdom of Hawai’i, New Zealand, Panama City,
Panama, and all countries that were vastly impacted by the issuing of the Papal Bulls known today as the Doctrine of Discovery.
I am directing you to write a New Papal Bull, apologizing for the destructiveness of your Hig Office.
Not doing this prevents the needed healing and reconciliation to move forward in peace.
