In Lebanon this earthquake caused four injuries, in the city of Baas, Tyre region, two are Palestinian refugees and one Lebanese, and in Sidon another person has been injured, according to the Lebanese broadcaster.

Seismic movements are frequent in the region because the Syrian-African fault passes through it, where two tectonic plates come into contact, the Arabica and a smaller one that encompasses Sinai and Israel.
