?Introduce yourself little bit please

My name is KG Crown.  I am 13 years old and an American singer, songwriter, actress, and influencer

?What inspires you to be creative

My music is inspired by real life events. I often write songs about experiences that I am going through

I also love fashion and make-up. I am very inspired by the creativity of other artists, fashion designers, and make-up artists around the world

Who or what inspired you to pursue a career in music and who or what have been the most important influences on your musical life and career

When I was 7 years old, I heard a voice that told me to “sing to the world.”  Being strong in my faith, I formed a sibling band with my three older brothers and started singing right away

We had the band for about 5 years before my brothers decided to pursue other interests

But those years were very formative for me and some of the best years of my life

I learned how to sing, play instruments, perform, and I had a great time with my brothers. Now, I am pursuing a solo pop secular career.  But I would not be where I am today without my brothers

I am a very ambitious person and hard-working

?Is there anything special that you do to get into a creative mindset

I am a very ambitious person and  hard-working, so it is easy for me to get into a creative mindset. I love what I do. But, I do get nervous before going on stage.  I have to give myself a pep talk and tell myself, “You got this!”

?What message, if any, do you try to put into your work

I think anytime a person is blessed enough to be given a huge  platform, it is important to use it well and leave a positive impact on the world. Having been a victim of bullying, I try to use my platform to promote anti-bullying.

Do you ever find yourself unable to express your creativity to the ,fullest? What kinds of things inhibit you

When I am songwriting, I can get writer’s block.  Some songs come to me easily and others I struggle with.  I might know what I want to say, but can’t find the right words that fit that song

?Who is your greatest influence

I am inspired by other artists.  I enjoy watching their documentaries because I find their life and dreams so relatable. Plus, everyone loves a success story

?Do you feel that you chose your “passion,” or did it choose you

My passion chose me when I was 7 years old. I was called to be a singer.  There is nothing else I would rather be doing with my life though.  I am definitely living my passion

If you hadn’t chosen your field, what would your alternate field have been?

There really has never been a plan B for me.  It has always been singing and acting

?Which performances/recordings are you most proud of

I am most proud of my new EP that is coming out in the Summer of 2021. It’s the first time I was 100 percent in creative control of my music

I chose the sound, the songs, the branding, and the artwork.  So, I feel quite an attachment to it

I tried to create something artistically creative that was representative of my generation, Generation Z. As children or teens growing up with social media, we are exposed to very mature conten

And I tried to create something that represented the youthful playfulness of my age mixed with the sexual maturity we are exposed to

I wanted to create a conversation about how social media is impacting youth

Social media is great in that it connects people all over the world but it is changing how quickly kids grow up

People change and mature as they grow uP
People change and mature as they grow uP

?How do you make your repertoire choices from season to season

As an artist, I am always evolving.  I started out in Christian music and was very conservative

Now, I am singing pop secular music and very sassy. People change and mature as they grow up

They start to figure out what’s important to them and what they stand for.  It’s important to grow

I think my music just represents where I am in life at that particular moment

?Do you have a favourite concert venue to perform in and why

I have performed on small stages, coffee shops, and festivals.  But it is my dream to play a huge stadium one day

?As a musician, what is your definition of success

I think success has nothing to do with music

Success is defined by happiness.  If you are happy with your life, then you are successful

I realized that music, films, sports, or materialistic things cannot make you happy

It’s the people in your life that make you happy

So for me, being successful is being with my family and maybe having one special person to share my life and future with

?If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be

I’d give more people a shot.  It’s  a hard industry to break into

There are so many talented musicians out there who never get their big break and they deserve it

?What are your new music

I just got back from Los Angeles where I recorded my first debut EP, which will probably come out this summer

I am really excited about it!
