Back to the front of the stage.

On Saturday, Linda Evangelista unveiled on her Instagram account an excerpt from Fendi‘s new advertising campaign, in which she is taking part during a special fashion show organized next September, “to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Fendi Baguette“, the star bag of the brand created by Silvia Venturini Fendi, and “the two years of the arrival of Kim Jones as artistic director of the House”.

This image is of a fresh start for the Canadian top, after an aesthetic medicine procedure that left her, in her words, “brutally disfigured.”

Last September, she explained to the American magazine People why she had been living in complete discretion for five years and cryolipolysis sessions, supposed to freeze and then make disappear the fat that she could no longer lose in the chin, arms and on the thighs.

Only, shortly after the sessions, the areas worked had swollen, hardened and then become numb.

“I tried to fix everything on my end, I thought I was doing something wrong. I ended up not eating at all. I thought I was going crazy,” she said.

I don’t look in the mirror. It doesn’t look like me”

Until his doctor diagnoses him with paradoxical adipose hyperplasia, a rare side effect of such a procedure, which causes parts of the body that are supposed to shrink to swell – hence the term “paradoxical”.

The recommended treatment is liposuction of the inflamed areas but it does not always work.

Despite two operations, Linda Evangelista said she was still suffering and keeping the after-effects: “I don’t look at myself in the mirror.

It doesn’t look like me. […] I loved being on the podium.

Now I dread meeting someone I know, she had told. I can no longer live like this, in secret and in shame. I couldn’t live with this pain anymore. »

Linda Evangelista, who says she turned down company-funded liposuctions in exchange for signing a non-disclosure agreement, has sued Zeltiq Aesthetics Inc, seeking $50 million in damages for her career shattered by those procedures.
