Pop art is defined by its ability to merge iconic staples of popular culture with art.

First born in the late ’20s, Disney’s Mickey Mouse continued his ascent into fame and popularity well into the ’80s as a cultural icon of TV.

It was in the ’80s era that pop artist, Keith Haring found his muse in one of television’s most beloved characters – the adorable mouse with the oversized ears.

In his iconic style, Keith Haring drew a character, already known to the world, through his own artistic lens which found inspiration in pop art and graffiti.

Fast-forward 20 years later, and American fashion label, Coach’s latest collection sees a revival of Keith Haring’s Mickey Mouse.

The result is a collection of statement pieces imbued with a kaleidoscope of colours and Disney’s most revered character.

This isn’t Coach’s first collection to find inspiration in quintessential Disney iconography and characters; however, the Disney Mickey Mouse X Keith Haring collection is so much more than that.

Featuring puffer and leather jackets, and cute Mickey Mouse ear-shaped bags, among other pieces, the collection is a celebration of an artist who sought to bring people together through art.

And the pieces are a must-have for your winter wardrobe. Coach Creative Director, Stuart Vevers says of the collection, “Sometimes the best design comes from the most unlikely juxtapositions, and I can’t think of a cultural clash that brings me more joy than Mickey Mouse and Keith Haring.”
